That is an interesting and beautiful sculpture, Ju-Lyn.

Thanks Lavinia. Fernando Botero was one of the first sculptors which captured my heart – and there has been no turning back since.

It is indeed! It’s actually quite challenging to portray the scale of this sculpture. It’s quite rather enormous!

you really captured the smoothness of the material used – and the different views was a nice virtual experience of this piece

Am glad you managed to get a sense of the work – it was actually quite challenging to capture the immensity of the sculpture. For some reason, it’s tucked into an awkward space in front of the hotel.

wonder why they put it there and wonder how much it cost – looks expensive

Botero sculptures run high in the art marketplace. Lots of big corporations and owners of buildings love to place Boteros & Rodins in their lobby or front doors … I think it has to do with fengshui.

Lovely sculpture. It reminds me of one I saw a few years ago, so now I just have to find the exhibition catalogue to check if it was the same artist. Ah the rabbit holes I can’t resist.

I know, right? I get like that too … it just rankles at me when that piece of information sits just outside ….

A great choice for the body theme – I love Botero’s work and hope to get to Medellin one day to see much more of it.
