On my mind is how I want to bring Beauty to the world we live in. I listened to a Ted Radio Hour episode called What is Beauty? and this is the question I have been pondering. Would I do it through music? a poem? a kind word?
In Lesson 9 of Developing Your Eye, the discussion is about Colour and how its use can create different moods and arouse various emotions. When used purposefully and well, I imagine one can make a mundane subject rather intriguing. Would photography be an avenue for me to create the Beauty I desire to share? As much as I want to create, I need also to take time to appreciate it around me. So, when I chanced by these flowers by the kerb as I walked home from the bus stop. I decided to take 5 minutes to spend some time with them as a RegularRandom exercise.
Here are the RegularRandom guidelines, if you would like to join in the fun.
- choose a subject or a scene
- spend five minutes photographing it – no more!
- try to not interfere with the subject, instead see it from many angles, look through something at it, change the light that’s hitting it
- have fun!
- tag your post #regularrandom and ping back to DelseyJane
Questions lead to more questions. All I know for sure right now is that I do want to be a student of Beauty: in appreciating it as well as creating it. How? is a question that I will have to continue to enjoy exploring.
What canvas have you chosen to paint Beauty?
you picked some really pretty flowers for your experimenting.
and purple too – nice for dear ms Purple Pumpernickel.
🙂
and I cannot believe this is just 5 minutes of your time
