This is an old familiar bench on Saraca Stream Walk, found close to the Tanglin Gate of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Â Just five months ago, this was a rest stop for me on my recuperative walks. Â As I run past this bench this morning, I cannot help but pause to give thanks. Â To remember gasping as I took each slow step, wobbling and trying to keep balance, determined not to have to hold on to Loving Husband for support. Â For more details, follow this link. Share Your World: Heliconia Caribaea
As I was running through the Ginger Garden in the Botanic Gardens, I chanced upon this unusual heliconia. I don’t always exercise in the morning as I sometime have driving commitments. When I do, I like to get out at dawn; I love the magnificence of the sunrise, the quiet of that time of day, and the drowsiness which curbs negative self-talk (read: too sleepy to mull over reasons why I shouldn’t hit the pavement). Continue reading “My Backyard: loving what we have”
Recutting the Road
There has been a lot of construction around our neighbourhood. Â Roads have been diverted, bus-stops moved down the road, U-turns reappearing in strange places. Â I decided to explore one of the biggest changes in the area this morning: Tyersall Avenue. Continue reading “Recutting the Road”
