bridges in the night

The promenade along the Singapore River is one of my favourite night runs. It takes us through the very historic Civic District which is so scintillatingly lit.

Cavenagh Bridge is one of the oldest surviving bridges in Singapore – and apparently the only suspension bridge. It is fitting that the historic & grand Fullerton Hotel forms its backdrop from this particular vantage. Sparkle among glimmer: we just can’t get enough!

Another favourite of ours is the Elgin Bridge: bridge by day, artwork by night.

This post is my contribution to One Word Sunday: Bridge hosted by Debbie at TravelWithIntent and Friendly Friday Photo Challenge: Colour Harmonies hosted by Amanda at SomethingToPonderAbout & Sandy at TheSandyChronicles.

  1. Beautiful views – what a lovely running route. Colour me jealous – not just for the view but for the weather. It’s already getting cooler here. My days of running and cycling in shorts are numbered for 2020.

  2. What incredible views for a night run! I love all the colors! Also so interesting the Cavenaugh bridge is the only suspension bridge too. Thank you for sharing with us, Ju Lyn!

  3. I spent a few days in Singapore in 1988 and would love to go back. It’s such a fascinating city and there have been some amazing developments since I was there as far as I can see.
I need to win the lottery first though, fingers crossed.
