Not long after we started our run in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Loving Husband pointed this interesting curio to me. Loathe to stop so soon after we started, I’d actually run on. But my curiosity got the better of me and we ran back to take a closer look.

Loving Husband was just as fascinated as he tried to pick up what looked like a nicely coiled piece of wood. But in fact, it was part of the roots of the tree.
The exciting things we discover when we stop, look & marvel.

That is such an interesting part of the tree! I don’t think I have seen anything like that ever before. I thought it was a birds nest initially!

Do you have a herbarium at the Botanic Gardens. You could send them the photo and ask them if they know?

We do have various research buildings/offices scattered around the garden. I will see what I can dig up. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sometimes I am not quick enough to pause and have to backtrack. Am glad I took the time to do so.
