Crafty Older Daughter’s fidget is tatting: whether in class or at social gatherings, she keeps herself focussed by making knotted lace with a shuttle or bobbins of thread. Traditionally, tatted lace is used as trims for collars, sleeves or dress hems. Her choice of tatted projects are coasters for my photographic use, and butterflies.
Unfortunately, sometimes her work gets tangled and relegated to the knotted discard pile (see above Feature Photo). Otherwise, it has been my job to put these butterflies to use. So far, I have made cards.
Do you have any idea how else I could incorporate these lovelies into giftables?
This post is my contribution to One Word Sunday: Knot hosted by Debbie at TravelWithIntent
Would make excellent decorations for cushions, sweaters, jean pockets, fabric bags, and a baby’s mobile – hanging above cot or change table.

They are beautiful! Could decorate gift packages with them (instead of a bow) and the recipient could find other uses later. Or incorporate into a wall or window hanging. Put on florist wires and have them fluttering around house plants? I think there are many ways they could be used.

Those are lovely! Since they are butterflies the first thing that came to mind was a mobile or windchime! You could you hang some on various lengths of string and have them flutter in the wind (or at least spin around lazily) 🙂

Whoa, these are cool. Do you have a tree in your yard? You could make a string of them and hang from branches or wrap around the trunk 💕

Ooh, I like the idea of decorating a tree. I’ve seen people crochet around a tree trunk before, and lamp posts …. but handing them off branches might be fun.
I don’t have a yard, though, so I will have to find someone else’s tree to decorate!
