One of my greatest joys when travelling is to explore the lesser trodden places (read: less touristy spots) during my morning runs.
Came across this whimsical sight in Ipoh a month ago, along the less explored parts of the Kinta River. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the owners of this vegetable patch decided to repurpose the door. Maybe they had a sense of humour too.
This is my contribution toJanuary’s Photo Adventure: Rural hosted by Little Pieces of Me.
This is my favorite re-purposing of a door ever! Very clever and probably one of the coolest gates I’ve seen. Great capture.

Thanks Su! It’s fun, isn’t it? We actually stood around for quite a while to figure whether the door was functional. We thought it was rather clever!

That is really cute, but also functional if they need to get through to the river. So, great idea, really.
