It is Finished: Nanowrimo Update Day 30

Yes, it is finished.  Not the 50K words, nor the Great American Novel, simply, the 30 days of concerted writing.  I will put my draft to bed for a bit, and maybe when I feel ready, will read through it to see if there is anything I can do with it.

Tomorrow, I begin my next 30 Day Challenge: a Photo a Day.

Days fly by so quickly that I have such difficulty remembering what I do from day to day.  I listened to  Mark Cutt speak about his 30Day Challenges, his first being a photo a day, and how it helped him be more mindful about each day,  and with remembering & recall.  I have also been striving to be a better photographer, even if only armed with a phone camera, so this is my chance to start exercising and practicing WordPress’  Photography: Developing Your Eye.

So, here’s to a month of mindfully capturing some of the beauty around me through my camera’s lens.

  1. Congrats on getting through NaNoWriMo. I started it once, a couple years ago, and gave up after about a week. I considered trying it again this year, and realized it would probably just end the same way. November is such a bad month for me, with everything I have going on, but perhaps I should choose a slower month to do some focused writing….

    1. Thanks so much! I received a very encouraging email from one of the Nanowrimo folks, who also didn’t “win” this month (ie. didn’t make the 50K word count). It was humorous as well as uplifting, and it did make my non-finish feel complete.

I guess it’s the attempts that count. As does writing done any other time of the year 🙂 So here’s to your season of focused writing, when you decide you are going to embark on it!

  2. i love the idea of a photo a day. my family once did a project together where we all posted one photo per day to instagram. we live all across the globe and it was a great way to get a peek into each others daily lives! 🙂
