Lemons for coffee

Older Daughter collects Linguistic Objects: brochures, magazines, snapshots of interesting signs. She snapped this one yesterday, at Optimist Coffee, a little coffee stand outside the LRT station at Ampang Park, Kuala Lumpur.

She is in KL for a music camp; we joined her yesterday for a mini break before the concert this weekend. We talked about why on earth anyone would make this exchange of lemons for coffee, and speculated what Optimist was going to do with all the lemons.

Today we found out.

I was so tickled by this clever campaign, we got ourselves some lemonade and calligraphy cards to support the project. Well done, Optimist Coffee! And Happy 2nd Anniversary!
