I don’t hang out at pubs much these days, but I do like the idea of having a Local: near to home, friendly folks, ice-cold beer, nostalgic comfort foods. The New Rasa Singapura is such as a place: we feel welcome even when we show up sweaty from a run.
This quaint little social enterprise is named in memory of the original Rasa Singapura food centre which was located across the traffic junction. I recall frequenting this food centre as a child.
Even more memorable was the nearby fountain at the Tanglin traffic circus. I remember making my parents drive round and round just so that I could look at the mesmerising water patterns!
