Ma Maison Cafe: a Devadason Food Adventure

This past Friday night, we decided we simply had to go out for dinner.  We wanted to try Ma Maison Cafe which was recommended by another Fellow Foodie Family.  We called the Ngee Ann City branch for a reservation but were told there weren’t taking any more, but to just come and “try out luck” as a walk-in.

Feeling a little amamaison2dventurous, we decided to chance it.

We were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t have to wait too long (20 minutes or so), and we had fun in their
pretty waiting area. It is a French-themed Japanese restaurant, described as French-Japanese fusion.  The decor is French country, with lots of fun details.

The service was attentive once you managed to catch someone’s eye, and when they were at our table, they took great care to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

The pièce de résistance of the evening were the French fries served with chocolate sauce (my kind of people!) and ketchup.

The artistic cascade of the fries was functional: the fries in the bowl were salted, those at the bottom on the plate were unsalted, presumably to go better with the chocolate sauce.

The rest of the food was also fun & fabulous!  4 Thumbs up from us!

We noted that they have great specials: Monday is Ladies’ Night – if you have a Lady in your group, the whole party gets 20% off the bill.   The Set Lunches range between $12.90++ – $16.90++.
